2019 City Hall tree
GILLIAN JONES — THE BERKSHIRE EAGLE
This blue spruce, donated by Dawn Hinkell of 141 Glen Ave. is lifted to its spot in front of City Hall in North Adams on Thursday. The tree, which measures 25 feet, was planted by Sandra Bryant, Hinkell's mom, who passed away in 2015. The family has a history of donating their evergreen trees to the city. Hinkell said she and her sisters are very excited about seeing the tree in downtown and Hinkell joked she might be the only person standing in front of City Hall's tree during the annual treelighting, as the festivities usually revolve around the tree at Monument Square. The second tree was donated by the Pownal Fire Department. The annual tree lighting is Wednesday, November 27 at 6 pm.
