The wreckage of a 1969 Piper single-engine plane that crashed in the Florida woods shortly before 7 pm on Friday, December 20, after the pilot, Kurt Bohlsen, made a distress call claiming that the plane had lost all power. The plane was destroyed, split in half with the cockpit turning during the crash to face the fuselage and tail. Bohlsen, 47, a 22-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl and a small dog who were traveling from Long Island, NY, to Rutland, VT, for a ski trip all survived the devastating crash with minor injuries. According to Florida Fire Chief Michael Gleason, it is a miracle they made it out alive. Saturday, December 21, 2019.
