GE Lightning Experiments
BERKSHIRE EAGLE FILE PHOTO
Ripping through the air like a spear of fire, a 15-million volt bolt of lightning, the most powerful ever created by man, leaps 50 feet between two impulse generators in GE's High Voltage Engineering Lab. This was the longest distance attained with man-made lightning at the time, June 23, 1949. Photo originally provided by GE News.
